So you wan to create your first MMO huh? Well I don't know if you've come to the right place but this is my own personal journey into the Mobile MMO SPACE ACTION genre. A genre I would love to say I invented. Thats probably a lie though. 😱 Ok, So here is the deal. This is my own story about how I'm creating an MMO and I don't really want to open source it because you know "security", but I will be posting code that is in our game and how we actually implemented it. I will be telling you guys what assets were used all code or designs that are freely available on the net or that you can buy for a reasonable price.
First, We had to decide on a Game Engine. We decided UNITY. Its component based system and extensive asset store gave us a lot of head room for development and a as a person developing a MMO alone, we think its the best one. Oh yea, I say "we" because it makes me feel like a super important Game Studio. Here is a our logo:
